A 12'3" kayak that folds down to the size of a large suitcase. At 26 pounds, it's far lighter than a rotomolded kayak. It’s compact enough to store almost anywhere. With the Oru Pack, you can even check it on a plane or hike into the wilderness.
The Bay ST is our most versatile origami boat. It can handle conditions from smooth lakes to ocean surf. The closed cockpit can be used with the Oru Nylon Spray Skirt for open water paddling. It's best for intermediate and advanced paddlers, who will appreciate its speed and agility — but beginners with a few paddles under their belt will also love this model.
With our newest iteration, we've added a bunch of great features to the product that launched Oru Kayak— a closed-cockpit performance kayak that's sporty, versatile, and light. We've made it even more durable, with new aluminum cockpit latches and extra-reinforced strap anchor points. Its updated print pattern is all about going back to our origami roots. The Bay ST is built for a wide variety of water types and conditions and holds enough gear for overnight trips.

Mon BAY ST avec sa belle couleur Cayenne a un hiloire assez grand avec un bel espace pour être bien confortable. Tout est au sec avec du rangement avant et arrière. Il est très agile et sécuritaire sur des eaux agitées, avec du vent, de la houle, du courant. Je l'ai testé dans plusieurs situations et il est SUPER.

Just got my kayak from Ottawa Valey Air Paddle. What a great first trip! Pre-assembled my Oru Kayak in the morning and was able to decrease my set-up time at the river by half! In terms of the kayak, the Bay St. version is sleek in design, and well balanced. I found it easy to maneuver forwards and backwards, spin around and keep a straight path while paddling. Can’t wait to do my second paddle this Friday! And, by the way, Scott at Ottawa Valley Air Paddle was incredibly helpful in getting the kayak to me fairly quickly and at a better rate than I would have had to pay in shipped directly from Oru in the States!

Super easy experience with ordering and shipping the kayak. I havent had a chance to use it yet but been seeing great view over the years and thats why I got it
We all know the drill. If you don't have kayak racks on your rig, it's an ordeal. You either drop a grand or more on a rack, or you go the foam and straps everywhere route. And then you drive and worry it's sliding, or getting crimped in the heat, or worry about it when you park somewhere...
Or. You drop a grand and a bit on a kayak that bypasses the whole thing.
Funny story, when I bought the ORU, I had a small 2dr coupe. The box it came in did not fit in the car. Taken OUT of the box, however, it slid right into the back seat past the angled front seat. Also, there are two big pockets that are there when it's folded up. I keep everything but the paddle in those pockets; dry bag that clips onto the foredeck with bailer pump (never used!), floater bags, my life jacket, emergency kit, shoes, gloves, hat...

Super good service
Great boat and super nice company! I needed a craft I could transport easily and carry myself since I am older, short in stature, limited strength. This kayak was just the ticket! When initially the package looked like it might be lost in transit, Lana responded right away in terms of what to do. Thankfully arrived and my daughter and I put the boat together together and disassembled it with minimum bad words. We took it to Knight's Cove, Newfoundland for it's maiden voyage and it was great! Mind you it was a very calm day on the ocean. We then tried a nearby pond. No worries! Have since taken it out on other ponds. I love this craft!!! I can assemble and disassemble by myself in a timely manner without help and carry it easily in the cool back pack carrying case. Fits easily in my car without requiring physical strength and a million tie downs. Don't hesitate! You want one of these boats! And they are beautiful and functional! Fun kayak!
Scott was very helpful and demonstrated how to set up the kayak. I found it a bit tricky at home until I used the Youtube instructions. Supersimple and takes less than 10 minutes. Boat tracks beautifully - just wish I'd bought it earlier in the season
The kayak was for me, a 67 year old, 5 foot female. I wanted a light kayak that I could move around myself when my husband was not available. This really fit the bill. It tracks just as well as my other rudderless kayak; handles well in choppy weather. The unexpected bonus is I can enter and exit independently because it’s a hair more narrow than my sea kayak. AND I can carry it myself which was the original reason we bought it!
Kayaking suddenly became simpler!
I easily brought my Oru on the train when I visited a friend at her cottage, my new kayak (St Bay) glided so easily over the lake it was wonderful, and it proved to be very stable too. What a treat to be able to go kayaking without having to rent a kayak every time or put one over the roof of my car: like many strong women, I am still too weak to do this on my own. Unfolding an Oru kayak takes less than 10 minutes once you are familiar with the steps, it’s such a smart product. (The video was more useful than the booklet for the first time).
I will have to also buy the backpack, I must say that carrying the folded kayak rapidly becomes uncomfortable unless you are very tall…

I purchased an Oru kayak from Ottawa Valley Air Paddle three weeks ago, and can't say enough good things about the whole process. The kayak is amazing - light but stable and solid, easy to set up and tear down, and much easier for me than carrying and racking my old kayak. And Scott was extremely flexible in terms of getting me into what I wanted within a couple of hours of my phone call to him from Ottawa. I'm only sorry that I didn't buy an Oru earlier! Seamless deck closure
4 zipper channels close and seal the deck. They’re easy to install, watertight, and make a rock-solid deck once assembled.
Sturdy coaming
This is the fancy word for the rim around the cockpit — it reinforces the kayak and lets you wear a spray skirt for keeping safe and dry in open water. For 2021, we've upgraded to custom marine-grade aluminum latches to secure the two halves together.
Adjustable backrest
The fully adjustable backrest provides support and comfort for paddlers of all sizes. It can be lowered to accommodate a spray skirt.
Deck lines
No-stretch lines are easy to grab for safety. The bungee web in front of the cockpit is great for stashing a water bottle, small drybag, or other gear.
