OVAP 45-Day Love Your Gear Guarantee
At Ottawa Valley Air Paddle, we want you to feel confident in every purchase. Most gear you buy from us is covered by our 45-Day Love Your Gear Guarantee, giving you time to make sure your new equipment truly works for you.
This guarantee applies to most products with the exceptions outlined below.
What the Guarantee Covers
If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason within 45 days, you may return it for an exchange or refund, assessed according to the condition of the item. Refunds are issued to the original payment method and will reflect any wear, damage, missing parts, or shipping costs.
Clothing returns follow their own guidelines described below.
Condition Assessment for Returns
Every returned product is evaluated carefully by our team. Kayaks, paddleboards, canoes, and other large items require a detailed inspection that can take up to two business days during the busy season.
Any dents, scrapes, or wear will be reflected in the final refund. Water use is expected, but damage caused by dragging, impact, or misuse will reduce the refund amount.
At drop off, you will receive a return slip noting the items left with us and the estimated timeline for an update.
Off Season Water Trial Extension (October to May)
When the weather is too cold for a proper on water test, we extend your trial window. Any kayak, canoe, or paddleboard purchased between October and May can be tested on the water up to June 15 of the following paddling season.
If you purchased accessories on the same receipt as your boat or board, those items may be returned along with the primary product.

Items Not Covered by the Love Your Gear Guarantee
To align with our fitting and performance policies, the following products fall outside this guarantee:

Ski boots (covered separately under the Perfect Boot Fit or You Don’t Pay policy)

Alpine & Nordic Skis (covered separately under the Performance Guarantee)

Products discounted more than fifty percent

Custom orders or personalized items

Services, rentals, and labour

Perishable products, personal care items, swimwear, and undergarments

Final sale items
Clothing must be unworn, unused, and returned with all original tags.
Price Match and Price Assurance Alignment
We stand behind our pricing so you can shop with confidence.
Price Match
If you find a lower price on an identical, in-stock item from an authorized Canadian retailer, we will match it at the time of purchase.
The item must be the same brand, model, size, and year, and currently available from the competitor. Price must include all fees (e.g., shipping fees or memberships).
To qualify:

The price must be publicly advertised or ticketed. Verbal or unadvertised pricing does not qualify.

We must be able to verify the price through an online listing, flyer, or direct confirmation.

Price matches cannot be combined with additional discounts or promotional offers.

Purchases made for resale or in violation of our Terms of Use are not eligible.

14 Day Price Assurance
If the price of an item you purchased from us is reduced within 14 days of your purchase date, we will issue the difference as a store credit.
The item must be identical and meet all original purchase conditions.
Our 45 Day Love Your Gear Guarantee works alongside these policies.
Items purchased under the Perfect Boot Fit or You Don’t Pay policy or the Performance Guarantee follow their own specific guidelines.
Damaged or Incorrect Orders
If your order arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, contact us right away so we can correct the issue promptly.
Order Cancellations
If you ask us to hold gear for more than fourteen days and later cancel, a ten percent restocking fee will be applied due to storage and inventory impact.
Refund Processing Times
After your return is inspected and approved, your refund will be processed within fifteen days. Banks and credit card providers may take additional time to complete the posting.
