Oru Kayak - Lake
Love the "Lake" Oru Kayak from OVAP!
"Ordered my Oru Kayak (Lake) from OVAP, the ordering, shipping was very clear, and came within a few days of order (to Toronto). Have been using it a lot and love how light and easy set up is. Takes a bit of practise to get set up but really amazed by how well it handles on the water. And packing it up is super easy as well." - Nicole
Oru Kayak - Lake
🍁Canada Wide Shipping🍁
The Lake is one of the lightest kayaks on the market. It is all you need to connect to the water, and it assembles in under three minutes (with practice). It's a stable and beginner-friendly boat that’s fun for all ages. The smallest, most portable out of the Oru Kayak lineup. Offering the same durability as the expedition models and can fit easily in a backseat, trunk, or even a plane for all your adventures.
Weighing in at only 17 lbs, this kayak can be lifted and transported so easily by anyone. Assembly is simple and can be done in just minutes without any tools or experience. It is the most accessibly priced model ever - but nothing about it is cheap. Made from the same ultra-durable materials as other Oru models, the Lake boasts a clean and minimal design for less.
Durability
Oru Kayaks are lightweight and extraordinarily strong. They're created from 5mm double-layered, custom-extruded polypropylene with a 10-year UV treatment. Translation? Oru Kayaks are puncture + abrasion resistant and built to last. With proper care, they can withstand sliding over rocks, bumping into obstacles, and folding up tens of thousands of times!

Here's What some of our customers are saying
Absolutely perfect!
“The price was the same as if I had bought directly from the company, plus I saved the importation fees. So you are much better off buying from Ottawa Valley Air Paddle. And the kayak is amazing, it takes 2 minutes to assemble and disassemble, and it is lighter and much faster than my former inflatable one.”

The entire experience was fabulous from start to finish
“We are so impressed with Ottawa Valley Air Paddle. This is our second Bay St. We ordered the first one directly from ORU. This time we saved on shipping from the US and the price of the kayak was significantly less than Amazon. The entire experience was fabulous from start to finish. High recommend working with Scott and Lana. They are knowledgable, seem to genuinely care about the customers, and offer service that is exceptional.”

Amazing kayak! For an older kayaker that likes to get on the water whenever possible, this is perfect. It is easy to transport and handles beautifully on the water. Loving it!
Ordered it online and picked it up in Arnprior. Excellent service OVAP!
Ordered last week (happy 60th birthday to me), it arrived yesterday, took it out first thing this morning. Wow - what a great kayak! Assembly is easy, it’s sturdy and comfortable, and super convenient to transport. I couldn’t be happier! Also, thanks for the excellent and efficient service!
We have two Tucktecs and these were on sale so we bought one to try since we are a family of 3. Now we all have kayak. Pros - very light, quick to set up, nice to paddle. Cons: Can't bash it around and drag it on the rocks, perception of flimsiness. I am sure the perception of flimsiness will pass in time. I am the only one of us 3 who has tried it so far. Time will tell whether the Oru or Tuckec will be my preferred.
Oru Kayak - Lake
Best purchase I have made! The Lake1 is perfect for me. Very lightweight which makes transportation easy. I would highly recommend this product.
Purchased the Oru Kayak - Lake from Ottawa Valley Air Paddle and loved the experience! The kayak was lightweight, easy to carry and set up, and handled beautifully on the water. It felt stable and responsive, perfect for exploring the calm waters around Burlington, Ontario.
The team at Ottawa Valley Air Paddle was friendly and made the process smooth from start to finish. Highly recommend!
It’s super crazy to unfold and get it onto the water!
I really like this kayak - it is very light and compact. Very easy to assemble.
Stable on a calm water - I tried it on the lake so far.
Also easy to wipe clean after use and to fold back into a small package.
I can easily fit two of them with all the additional gear at the back of my SUV.
The store team was great and very helpful with the product demo and support!
Light, easily transportable, and surprisingly efficient on the water, the Oru Lake fill its promises.
I finally got out to try my Oru Kayak. I am a very happy kayaker. This Kayak got me to love Kayaking again.
This kayak folds and it is easy. So easy and fast that I was up and running in about 5 mins. People who were pumping their SUPS noticed I was up and running even though they started pumping before I got to the lake. Yeah no more pumping my old inflatable. It is stable on the water and it can take some waves. What I love the most, it is so easy to get the water out of this kayak because it is so light. So easy to wipe down this kayak. Yeah it folds in a suit case and it fits so easily in the back. It was so great! My girlfriend bought one after she got tired of me waiting for her to finish pumping her kayak. I needed portability and this kayak solves it.
I received it two weeks ago and went camping last weekend and I’ve used it three days for a total of five hours kayaking and it worked just as they said it would.
Ordered my Oru Kayak (Lake) from OVAP, the ordering, shipping was very clear, and came within a few days of order (to Toronto). Have been using it a lot and love how light and easy set up is. Takes a bit of practise to get set up but really amazed by how well it handles on the water. And packing it up is super easy as well.
Had to practice assembling and disassembling in my living room a few times ...once I finally got it out to test ...I could assemble it in less than 5 minutes. Disassembling in even less time. Went with a friend with an inflatable. Even with an electric pump it took her forever to get her kayak ready.
I got it out in calm water.... felt tippy at first but I didn't panic and once I relaxed was able to easily control the kayak. I confirm it doesn't track well...once I stop, the boat starts to turn but easy enough to get back on track and once I'm paddling it's smooth. There were a couple of motor boats that caused a wave, but didn't even feel like it was gonna flip. It is a very sturdy kayak.
No regrets picking the Oru lake . Can't wait to bring it out more often because I can do it quite easily. May invest in a foot rest because I think it'll make it more comfortable. Other than that ...it's a perfect little kayak for me and my 2 doggos.
Great service. Easy to use website, with lots of useful information. Fast shipping.
Super easy to put together. Nice and light to paddle. I did some shaking around in it, didn't feel tippy at all.
Amazing kayak compact and very light !!
The Essence of Origami
Clean and minimal lines evoke the purity and elegance of folded paper. The Lake pays homage to our origami roots in its simple and ease-to-use design.
Small and Mighty
Foldable, portable, storable. Our smallest model with the same materials and durability of our expedition models to keep you kayaking summer after summer. All of our kayaks are made from a custom extruded, UV-treated plastic called OruPlast™.
Simple and Easy
We set out to eliminate everything extra - to capture the simplicity and elegance of origami in every line and curve. Fold out, buckle in and you're good to go. The Lake only has one removable part.
