📍 Start at P1 or P3 - Carling Avenue near Rifle Road

Shirley’s Bay offers a serene escape along the Greenbelt Pathway West, with picturesque loops such as Watts Creek and Trail 12. This area provides a tranquil mix of forested paths and open spaces, making it a great destination for both beginner and intermediate skiers.

2. Mer Bleue

📍 Start at P20 - Anderson Road near Ridge Road

Skiing through Mer Bleue feels like stepping into another world. Trail 51 winds through this stunning bog conservation area, offering breathtaking views and the chance to spot unique wildlife. This trail is perfect for those seeking a peaceful and immersive nature experience.

3. Britannia Winter Trail

7. Mooney’s Bay

📍 2960 Riverside Drive, Ottawa

A great urban skiing destination, Mooney’s Bay Ski Centre features 5 km of groomed trails for both skate and classic skiing. The trails are lit on weeknights until 9 pm, making it a convenient option for after-work skiers.

Mooney’s Bay also offers cross-country ski lessons through the City of Ottawa, with rental equipment available on-site through Lafleur Ski Rentals. If you're new to skiing or want to refine your technique, this is the perfect place to start. Be sure to book rentals in advance and arrive early if you're attending a lesson.

A day pass is just $4.05, while a season pass is available for $41.00 (prices subject to change). Fees help offset grooming costs, ensuring great trail conditions throughout the season.

7. Gatineau Park

📍 Visitor Centre: 33 Scott Road, Chelsea, QC

For the ultimate cross-country skiing experience, Gatineau Park is a must-visit. With over 200 km of trails ranging from beginner-friendly to expert-level routes, this park offers some of the most scenic and diverse skiing in the region.
